2.When the four boys reach the bridge Teddy suddenly bursts into tears because Milo tells him that his father is a Madman. (p. 25 l. 15) Teddy loves his father and he is very proud of him. His father was in the war and he was ain Normandy. Vern triedsto calm him down but he is not good at it. (p. 25 l. 20) The boys do not know what to do. But Chris is both the hardest boy in their gang and he is also the guy who makes the best piece. (p. 25 ll. 24-25) He is very good at it. (p. 25 l. 25) At this situation we can see that they all are the bestof friends and treat each other like very good friends. They understand each other very well and do not treat Teddy like a pussy although his behaviour is like a pussy. Chris speaks with him like an adult to an adult although both boys are under sixteen years old. He convinces Teddy that Milo does not know Teddy’s father and he only wanted to get Teddy and take him to the police. (p. 26 ll.19-22). Teddy believes him and stops c rying and being sad. At this moment it becomes clear that the guys trust each other.
Teddy asks the other guys if he is like a baby. (p. 26 l. 27) And the other boys denyl it because they know that they have to support Teddy in this difficult moment. The guys support each other i when someone has problems. It shows that they are real ly good friends.
But Gordie cannot understand Teddy because they all know that his Teddy’s father had almost killed him (p. 26-27 ll.33-1) Gordie’s parents do not care oabout him and he ca not love or hate his father because his father never had beaten him and that is why he cannot understand his friend Teddy.
Vern tells the other boys about his dreams and feelings which he might have after seeing the dead body (p. 27 ll. 14-18). He tells the truth and it improves that they trust each other and they can listen to the problems of their friends. After his speech he wants the other boys not to tell what he said to the other:” We all said we wouldn’t”.
